The tourneys begin
Last time on a very special session of IDK

The party registered for the several of the official events as well as the for many of the smaller events organized by the various mercenary guilds.

Elrich called in the first of his favours requesting that Wyne investigate the dragon pit for clues as to what really happened to the dragons. The rest of the party chose to accompany. They found that the pit was now inhabited by kobolds. The kobolds initially mistook the party for “Whitehair” declaring that “Whitehair is back.” but after realizing their mistake the kobolds attacked. Despite two of the kobolds being unusually skilled they proved to be no match for the shattered hand. Upon questioning the kobolds revealed that someone, known to them only as Whitehair, had been visiting the dragon pit. Apparently Whitehair initially punched them in their collective snouts to show dominance. Then began teaching them and apparently attempting to instill some form of law among the Kobolds. The kobolds warned them of the dangerous monsters ahead. The party let the kobolds go and continued into the dragon pit. They fought several monsters including a hooked horror which nearly killed Wyne. However there was nothing of interest concerning the dragons. They reported their findings to Elrich who returned to his study without saying much on the matter.

Wyne returned to the cleric who had promised to remove his amnesia. However the spell only removed a single instance of his amnesia. His first memory has foggy… literally. He was chasing someone through fog inside a building. He did not know who he was chasing, only that he hated him with all his being and that he had to destroy him. He chased him outside the building but immediately lost him in the crowded streets. After this first memory he remembered being extremely and inexplicably ill for several months. However his illness subsided with time and he fell into a life of petty crime. He eventually met Rashokh and Garth which led to his current situation.

The next day the Mercenary tourney began. Each member of the shattered hand easily made it through first round of their respective events.

In the second round of the unarmed tourney Garth fought Thorvald Umber a ‘huge fucking guy’. Thorvald managed to grapple and pin Garth and it seemed he had the upper hand. However he eventually began to tire. With a last burst of strength he dragged both Garth and Himself over the side of the ring. In this unprecedented double ring out the judges decided that the fight would continue. Garth took the initiative and delivered a finishing blow to Thorvald. After this fight Garth met an Elf by the name of Brunor Stonefist and Dwarf known as Elrond Leafstep. Who recounted that Herbert told them that “Erfs rack stlength” and “Dwalf rack glace” respectively. Garth also approached a mysterious gray haired figure who had been observing him. The man had little to say merely commenting on the fight and quickly departing.

Rashokh fought a capable fighter from house Santagar. The fighter managed to disarm Rashokh however he also disarmed himself, planting his sword firmly in the ground. Rashokh managed to retrieve his weapon first and made short work of his unarmed opponent.

Wyne faced off against Arron Redfort who consumed a great many potions before the fight which seemed to make him look stronger and more graceful. Wyne’s initial strategy was to avoid the young noble until the potions had worn off. This cowardly tactic made the audience very upset and a it nearly incited a riot. With the crowd attempting to interfere Wyne rethought his tactics and defeated Redfort in a close fought match.

Norris fought a fearsome samurai who attempted to intimidate him with each blow. However Norris was not impressed and made short work of the samurai.

Er’taal was matched against a young rogue who continually attempted to feint against her. However Er’taal’s training as a Bravosi water dancer allowed him to easily see through his opponent who he defeated handily.

Er’taal went shopping and ran into Wyne. Wyne however behaved very oddly and ignored Er’taal. Bahaving as though he didn’t know her.

Norris returned to the church of Farlaughn where he was staying and spoke with the clerics there. They told him of their plans to ask for funding from the king to fight slavery. Norris being more knowledgeable of Westerosi history and politics than any of the other clerics committed to help them when the had their audience with the king.

The following day the Melee began. It was a long foughtand chaotic battle with many of the fans interfering by throwing things on the field that could either help or hinder the combatants. Many of the members of the shattered fared well lasting well into the fight. Midway through the fight a halfling streaker attempted to run across the field but was interrupted when Wyne World struck him down. This angered the crowd and added to his reputation as a dastardly rake. Wyne also delivered the finishing blow to the perennial favorite Thoros of Myr, angain drawing the audiences ire. The melee ultimately ended with a showdown between Er’taal Saet’rsen and Norris. It was a very close affair with Er’taal just barely emerging the victor.

The ongoing adventures of the Shattered Hand

The session began as The Shattered Hand fought off savage alligators while forging a lone river in the desert. After a grueling but otherwise uneventful trek through the desert they arrived in the Tor where they met with Measter Langerhans.

Langerhans told them of the recent increase in reports of arcane activity. He then explained his hypothesis that Magic was somehow tied to the Dragons and that this increase in magical activity may Herald the return of the Dragons. They proceeded to the Mansion and defeated the gauntlet of animated objects and constructs to discover a teleportation circle. When the Measter accompanied the party to the Mansion he noticed that Wayne was emitting a strong aura of Necromancy.

The teleportation circle took them too the ruins of a tower not far from the road to King’s Landing. They soon arrived in the capitol registered for events. Afterwards Garth and Er’ Taal went to the Red Keep to meet with Oberyn. They delivered the package they had for him and he gave them a gem as payment.

Meanwhile Wayne Met with Elrich the Scholar who cast Analyze Dweomer on him in exchange for three favors. Much to the puzzlement of both Wayne and Elrich the spell revealed that the aura was caused by a clone spell.

Norris went to visit the Wayfarer a traveling church of Farlaughn. He told them of his encounter with the cleric of Podarge. They explained that the Church of Podarge was an ancient religion once popular in the Ghiscari Empire. They also attribute the rise in the slave trade to the reincarnation of this religion. Norris offered his help in bringing this cult down.

Roshokh met with Stevie Wigglebottom a minor city official and offered to get rid of all the rats in town. Using a flute The Merchant sold him he summoned thousands of rats to Mr. Wigglebottom’s office and caught as many as he could in a crate and offered to dispose of them by eating them. Wigglebottom was impressed, though slightly disturbed, but needed to consult is superiors before agreeing to Roshokh’s offer.

When last we saw our intrepid adventurers they were just checking inn to the Iron Barstool.

The origin of the Shattered Hand

In the basement of the Devils Knee our intrepid adventurers discovered a hidden corridor leading to a warehouse in the Harbor district. They defeated the guards in the warehouse and released the slaves held there. By ‘interrogating’ the guards they discovered that a barge was to arrive soon to pick up the slaves. They ambushed the ship. Garth defeated their leader, a cleric, by pushing him overboard. The cleric worshiped a deity named Podarge whose holy symbol is of a Harpy holding manacles and a branch. The rest of the crew was imprisoned. However when they went to question the prisoners the next day the prisoners had already been sent away.

The following day our intrepid adventurers collected on several bounties posted for poisonous animals after which they convened in front of the palace gates for their scheduled dinner with Lord Dearon Vaith. In front of those palace gates an event took places that would inextricably tie the fates of our adventurers together and affect the fate of the kingdom in ways impossible to foresee. Our ragtag group of adventurers now stood united under a single banner. They had transformed into the Shattered Hand. At the dinner Lord Vaith learned that in addition to collecting on several of the bounties the party also defeated the slavers who had evaded the city guard for so long. Convinced of their ability Dearon hired them to deliver a “care package” to his cousin Oberyn Martell in Kings Landing.

Maester Nasser also had a request of the Shattered Hand and asked that they investigate a mansion in the Tor which was supposedly haunted. However his research revealed it was once owned by a wizard. He believed that the haunting was actually arcane in nature and gave them instruction to report their findings to Maester Langerhans in the Tor. He also told them this wizard regularly used teleport spells and they may find items that could help them reach King’s Landing sooner. Otherwise their instructions were to find a ship from the Tor to take them as close to King’s Landing as possible and to travel the rest of the way by horse. They set out for the Tor as guards with a caravan…

The story thus far
Things that already happened

Wayne Wyrld, Garth and Rashokh were in Old Town when an announcement was made that the King was holding celebration in King’s Landing. The three were hired by a steward of House Tyrell as guards on a ship delivering supplies to King’s Landing. After fending off an attacking pirate ship Rashokh and Wayne turned on the injured captain killing him and stealing Blackfyre, a sword the ship was transporting.

Unable to successfully sail the ship alone Wayne, Garth and Rashokh were shipwrecked on the south coast of Dorne, where they met Er’taal Saet’rsen, Brennan Ambrosa and Norris. While traveling to the nearest town our heroes discovered a temple devoted to snakes. After overcoming the challenges of the temple they discovered a magic dagger, some strange vials as well the remains of another party.

After several days traveling through the desert they reached city of Vaith. In the city they discovered that the deceased party they found were city guards, the vials contained poison and the dagger was designed for poison. The party then went to the Flagon inn where they met a rather unfriendly knave with an unusual interest in the party.

The following day they went to the palace to discuss the dead guards they found. They met with Guard Captain Tarik, Maester Nasser and Lord Dearon Vaith. By eavesdropping Rashokh and Wayne overheard that Lord Dearon thinks he recognized the elf and that the Maester would try to “reconstitute the formula”. Lord Dearon then payed a hefty sum for the items from the temple and asked them to return to the palace in three days.

While out shopping a load of stone blocks was dropped on the party by the knave from the Flagon Inn. They pursued him across the roofs of Vaith and eventually defeated him. They discovered that he was Inigo Panaka, son of the captain killed by Wayne and Rashokh. They turned him over to the local authorities.

The next day the party left the city to collect on bounties posted for seven poisonous animals. After collecting on three of the bounties Brennan decided to go to the Devils Knee Tavern while the rest of the party returned to the Flagon inn. The next day their companion Brennan had still not returned. The innkeeper who had befriended Norris warned them that the disappearances may involve slavers operating in the Devils Knee Tavern. At the Devils Knee Garth and Norris managed to thoroughly befuddle the guards while the rest of the party found the hidden back entrance to the tavern. In the basement of the tavern they found and freed Brennan. When last we saw our intrepid heroes they were about to continue investigating the Tavern…
